Old Tupton Ware
Old Tupton Ware is a collection of hand-crafted, tube-lined ceramics designed in the United Kingdom.
The name Old Tupton originates from the village of Old Tupton in the beautiful English county of Derbyshire. It was chosen to reflect the peace, tranquility and beauty of this idyllic village setting, and is the inspiration for the collection’s traditional designs and rich palette of colours.
The majority of Old Tupton Ware is made by casting using handmade plaster moulds. The process from the initial casting stage to final product consists of a series of steps including turning, sponging, tracing, tubelining, painting, and firing & glazing. Every step requires attentive handiwork to ensure each completed piece is of the utmost quality. This detailed process has been applied to a range of products from colourful jugs, vases and honey pots, to trinket boxes, salt and pepper sets, and mugs.
Today Old Tupton Ware boasts a number of patterns, having established itself as a collector’s brand of exceptional ceramic ware.
